new clay model part 1

Just getting use to the modelling clay and the different tool types, here is the progress so far. i dont have a design yet, im just experimenting but hopefully i will have one or two design soon, but im looking at a gt/coupe car design style.

shaped up a mould from foam, roughly 1/10 scale, then smoothed on clay

new photoshop render in 1hour and a half

im getting quicker at photoshop, just a quick simple photoshop render of a concept i knocked out. what do you think guys?

962 concept (engine research)

i’m think of using either a flat 6 twin or single turbo, OR a flat 4 single or twin turbo for the concept. been doing a bit of research and maths, power out put and stuff, here are the pictures. here are different types of single/twin turbo layout i have found especially v shaped engine.

i found this layout of a flat 4 placed in a chassis done up a CAD, i love this idea because its the same layout i want to use on my concept design.

great example is the subaru style flat 4 engine, they tend to use single turbo instead of 2 like they did in the past.


my theory is that with the flat 4 engine, a single mid sized turbo would work better than 2 turbo because 1:less turbo lag 2:amount of piston. down side is that the manifolds would have to be crazy, i think it will be easier to have a flat 6 twin turbo then a flat 6 single. its just crazy stuff and blowing my mind but i love it and find it very interesting, reason why im looking really deep into the engine for my design is because hopefully im going to draw in in my concept with the engine hood opened, and the glass view inside.

im really liking the flat  4 engine with small twin turbos on each end of the car OR a single  flat/V120* 6 single turbo for my concept, still hard tho, im so confused,

any help guys found be great

new porsche flat 4?

found this page on the new flat 4 porsche engine that could go ahead, this could be great for my project because its smaller than the flat 6 meaning its lighter and the body can be shorter. they say it will feature direct injection, one turbocharger and a 7,500 rpm red line. According to internet speculation, it is expected to make around 350 hp at its highest state of tune. hmm how about two different sized turbo chargers just like the flat 6 turbo or could it be like a Subaru flat 4?

just a bit more information and research for my project


thinking of the next project? (porsche 962 2014 concept)

one of my favorite racing car, the 962 porsche that dominated the group c era. there are road going versions of the 962 an 956 in the world, its beautiful with its  slick steam line design, and beats most top hyper cars of today. with a flat 6 single or double turbo charged engine, and a to speed reaching easily well over 230mph, for me it is defo in a class in its league.




i’m going to design a concept of the 962 if i have time, using as mush information i can find on the car from the clever diffuser to the interior, hard job eh but it will be fun.
